Cardiff Comic Con 2023 - We came, We saw and we absolutely enjoyed!

The Cariad Confectionery crew attended the Cardiff Film & Comic Con 2023 on 21st & 22nd October 2023.

First outing

This was our first time attending Cardiff from the sellers side of the table after years of attending as fans. It was really an eye-opening experience seeing all the work that goes in to setting up and running a Comic Con.

The crew setting up the night before make it look so easy, and it was interesting to see all the props and stalls when no members of the public were around. We even got to do some shopping ourselves, before all the public were let in!

I have to say seeing some of the crew like Neil from Showmasters working behind the sceans, was very surreal, as we usually only see them when we attend conventions, directing the clouds and managing all the autograph and photo cues. It was like seeing your teachers outside of school....odd but somewhat cool!

We also have to say a big "thank you" to the Jedi School, who made sure the youngest sweet tester for the Cariad Crew got put through his paces, learning some awesome lightsaber fighting skills....Can you guess what's on his Christmas list now :)

Lots of friends

We were all amazed but the amount of people that visited us over the weekend and hopefully you all enjoyed your weekend. As this was our first event with Showmasters, we didn't have a clue what to expect, but we didn't need to worry, because everyone who visited made the event for us! From swapping guest tales, t-shirt spotting to having photos taken with our own personal props, the event was a blast! It was so humbling to see the amount of returning customers, that visited us at Swansea Comic Con earlier in the year and more, all coming up especially to say hi, and pick up things they had seen on our website. We're so happy you remember us, and glad you enjoyed so much last time that you came back for more!

Bring on next year!

Needless to say, we'll be back next year. We look forward to seeing you all then!
